A bell clanging loudly shook Rusalka out a slumber she didn’t remember falling into.
She groaned. Waking up was not her favorite thing, but it was a reality to be dealt with. Daily.
Disoriented, she looked around and remembered where she was. The Star’s Triumph. Her father’s ship. She groaned again as she remembered why she was just waking up as the sun was setting. The bell clanged again, signalling supper.
Rusalka tumbled out of her hammock, and hit the floor moving. One thing she knew for sure, she was starving. She stumbled up the steps, trying to shake the last webs of sleep from her brain.
